Band effect

In natural spectra, the effects of different bands of spectra on plant physiology were as follows: 1.280-315 nm had little effect on morphology and physiological process; 2.315-400 NNM had little effect on chlorophyll absorption, which affected photoperiod effect and prevented stem elongation; 3.400-520 nm (blue light) had the greatest absorption ratio of chlorophyll and carotenoids, which had the greatest effect on photosynthesis; 4.520-610 NM had the lowest absorption rate of pigments; 5. 610-720 nm (red light) chlorophyll absorption rate is low, which has a significant effect on Photosynthesis and photoperiod effect; 6.720-1000 nm absorption rate is low, which stimulates cell prolongation and affects flowering and seed germination; 1000 nm is converted into heat.

There are two main spectral ranges of direct absorption of chlorophyll, one is red light at 640-660 nm, the other is blue-violet light at 430-450 nm. In addition, lutein and carotene in plants can also absorb light energy and transfer it to chlorophyll for photosynthesis. The absorption spectrum of lutein and carotene is about 400-500 nm, slightly wider than that of chlorophyll directly. The absorption range of blue and purple light, so the whole spectrum range that plants can use is 640 ~ 660 nm + 400 ~ 500 nm. As long as the spectrum of the supplementary lamp used coincides with the above range, it can be used for plant photosynthesis.7
